When does couples therapy help?
If recurring conflicts strain your relationship
If you and your partner keep encountering the same problems
If you want to get out of vicious circles, accusations and devaluations
If they want to work on common goals and ideas for the future
As a useful supplement to individual therapy
Using methods of systemic couple's and family therapy, I treat all issues and questions in a multi-person setting that you would like to work on together with your partner or other people, you care about. Such issues can be, for example: Crises in the relationship and relationship conflicts Dealing with outside relationships/affairs Change processes in the partnership (e.g. pregnancy or children moving out of the parental home) Dealing with special life events (e.g. birth of a child, career changes, marriage, or bereavement) Dealing with illnesses of relatives Exploration and reflection of shared goals and ideas for the future Sexuality in the partnership Separation support
What is the couples therapy process?
How long does couples therapy take?
-
As short as possible, as long as necessary
-
Couples therapy is an individual process that takes place in a time frame specifically tailored to you
-
Sometimes just a few sessions are enough to solve your problem
-
Sometimes long-term support is required
-
We decide together when and how often appointments will take place – typically, regularly recurring appointments are arranged
-
A single session lasts 50 minutes
-
Sometimes it can be useful to hold appointments as double sessions, in order to be able to work on topics in more depth
-
Our sessions can also be held online by arrangement
What are the costs?
The costs for couples therapy are usually not covered by private health insurance and "Beihilfe", as conflicts between couples are not considered psychological illnesses.
Self-Payers
Billing is based on the fee schedule for psychotherapists "Gebührenordnung für Psychotherapeuten" (GOP) and amounts to €200.00 per individual session.
